Photographs were taken of the group performing at the National Trust's Stourhead Gardens, during their Festival of the Voice in 2009 and 2011. The music is taken from La nova Singers' first CD, 'DEBUT'; it was recorded live in concert at St Mary's Church, Dorchester in 2009. We last performed this piece in October 2020 at a concert that took place between two national lockdowns, when it felt especially poignant. World Choir Games graz 2008 sind der größte Wettbewerb in der Geschichte der Chormusik. Es waren rund 441 Ensembles aus 93 Nationen dabei. Nach graz waren auch die Sängerinnen und Sänger unseres Gospelchores Rejoice mit ihrem Leiter, unserem Kirchenmusiker und Küster Roland Orthaus gefahren. Und sie siegten! Rejoice holte eine von nur 6 Silber-Medaillen, die an Deutschland vergeben wurden. Für Rejoice bedeutet das, dass sie "Deutscher Meister" und "Vize-Europameister" in der Kategorie „Gospel/Spiritual" geworden sind.  less

Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals.
