We share our love of singing by performing an entertaining selection of music from a variety of genres. Since our inception, we strive to engage all our audience members, from the musically sophisticated to first-timers. We enjoy bringing our performance art to the Calgary community. We perform at two major concerts per year as well as various community performances. As a distinctive and dynamic women’s Vocal ensemble, we collaborate with local artists to perform unique arrangements of familiar and eclectic repertoire. Blend Vocal Association strives to unite in harmony and share our love of singing by performing a diverse and entertaining selection of musical styles. We ensure our musically sophisticated and first-time audience members leave our multiple-layered performances feeling entertained, upbeat and inspired.  less

With more than 80 years experience performing a cappella (unaccompanied) music and a repertoire that ranges from Vocal Jazz to barbershop, Chutzpah! is "in your face" right from the start and with every chord. Our day jobs of (from top voice down) a lawyer, a voice teacher, a computer programmer, and an army officer don't exactly bring to mind outrageous laughter and tremendous harmonies, but that's just what Chutzpah! brings to every performance.  less

Musical director, arranger and conductor: Tzvi Sherf The repertoire: a-cappella and accompanied arrangements of Israeli and non Israeli popular songs, Jazz standards, gospel & spirituals, and Jewish and international folklore. During its 25 years of activity, the ensemble has won several first prizes in choral competitions in Israel and Europe, performed in many musical festivals and events, as well as TV shows and radio programs. The ensemble collaborated with top Israeli musicians such as Yoni Rechter, Alon Olearchik and many more. Coral Ensemble has released 3 albums: Coral Ensemble (1994), Troubdour (2010), At This Time (2017), and a recording of Tzvi Sherf's composition, based on 6 Hasidic Nigunim – Kachomer Beyad Hayotzer (As the Clay in the Potter's hand) (2019).  less

This group is made up of 10 singers and performers all under the age of 25, giving VanDeca a youthful and fresh take on every genre, from classical to pop, musical theatre to Jazz, and everything in between! Each singer in VanDeca comes from a different musical background, shaping who we are as a group. Having only been in existence since November of 2011, this group has big plans to shape the face of choral music in Vancouver, encouraging our audience to feel connected with our performances through multi-genre pieces, and using movement and amazing sound to inspire others to become involved with their local choral groups.  less

The ensemble has a fascinating and diverse repertoire, most of which is original arrangements written by its members, some with humorous texts. The different programs also consist of traditional a-cappella arrangements. Among our different programs there are "Misa Criolla" with an authentic South American band; "Le Bouquet de Swing", rich harmonies and jumpy rhythms, well known Jazz standards and new arrangements to pop songs; "American Harmony", in which the Israel Chamber Orchestra joins the octet in an American themed program; and our new program, Sgt. Pepper and the Fabulous Four. A year before, there was already a male Vocal group consisting of six members called MIKE 6, the establishment of which was inspired by a US Vocal group TAKE 6. Voxtet was basically formed by subsequent addition of female singers to MIKE6. The formation of Voxtet started out with nine persons but, during the first three years, it ca me down to the current six members. Most of the singers in Voxtet have their musical background in various choirs. Some of them still sing in Jihlava’s famous PS Campanula choir. 1999 Voxtet’s first concert took place on 31 May 1999 in Jihlava’s Horácké theatre. From then on, Voxtet’s performed at various minor events as well as its own big shows. 1999-2001 At the beginning, Voxtet was remarkable especially due to the absolute lack of a distinct dramaturgy.
