During The tenure...  moreThe ROYAL College Choir, which traces its origins back to St. Paul’s Church, Wolvendhal where Royal College itself was formed in 1835 It was made part of The Western Music Society of Royal College with its formation in The year 1919. During The tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed The Choir won The prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200. The College AnThem ‘School of our FaThers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on The 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving The College AnThem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with The support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq. The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, The most significant out of which being The Annual Carol Service. It is currently trained by The eminent Ms. Sureka Amerasinghe.  less

The poem is a response to The 8th "O Antiphon" for Advent O Virgin of virgins, how shall this be? For neiTher before Thee was any like Thee, nor shall There be after. Daughters of Jerusalem, why marvel ye at me? The thing which ye behold is a divine mystery. Who are The daughters of Jerusalem, Who glimpse you still as you transform Their seeing? Whom have you called to this mysterium, And baThed in The bliThe fountain of your being? Members saw The need for a name which reflected Their distinctive sound and musical obje...  moreVoyces, a 20- piece ensemble of young adult choristers, was formed with The aim of performing a challenging, quality mix of contemporary and traditional choral music. Members saw The need for a name which reflected Their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting The eclectic and often unusual repertoire of The Choir. In using The archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – The Choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich choral tradition whilst establishing itself in The 21st century choral landscape. The Choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact The world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in The local WA and wider Australian musical community. As a strong supporter of emerging young composers and Australian composers, Voyces showcases Their works on a regular basis.  less
