However, it also sings with instrumental accompaniment. The choir has pieces from different ages, languages and styles in its repertoire. It gives both Turkey and world premieres of songs. It premiered the concerto Romeo and Juliet, composed by the conductor Agosyan last year. Recorded May of 2010 in the CWU music building concert hall. "Carpenters of God" was written specifically for the Chamber Choir's appearance at the 2010 NWACDA Conference. The composer talks about the inspiration for the piece (Weston Noble's visit to CWU in 2009) for the first 65 seconds. The piece is sung beginning at 1:05 in the video. Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. On September 10 of this year, Nashville Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The Singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus.
