Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-members of the Wonderboom High School Choir to continue Singing together after matriculating, it has since evolved to include members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age.
The choir has toured and performed across South Africa during the past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and other charitable events as they are performing alongside the best choirs in the world on International stages, for instance, at the 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where they took home a silver medal (79.5%) in the champion’s category for mixed adult choirs.

Homechoir is a new way of looking at learning music. You don’t need to be able to sing well or at all to take part – the teaching is one-way. You watch and sing along with Ben if you can, and are invited to take part in the live text chat with everyone else around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir.
If you can’t join in live, then you can enjoy the music-making at any time as all our sessions are recorded and available for you to watch when you can, as often as you like.
You don’t need to be able to read music, and where scores are needed, Ben will display them on screen to help you learn. As well as traditional choir and classical pieces, Ben teaches a huge range of other songs including folk, sea shanti... less
