It is located in Ghana, West Africa in a town called Ahinsan in the City of Kumasi. M.I.C performs many kinds of music genre such as Hymns, Choral Anthems, Classical music and contemporary music. M.I.C has its mid-year annual choral program dubbed Marvelous Praise which features lots of Choirs to perform with them on many kinds of music genre. M.i.C also has its end of year music program dubbed Vespira which is entirely music and prayers featuring other Choirs as well. M.i.C has performed at over 500 functions in Ghana since its existence. They are also the current ABC Classic FM Choir of the Year. In addition to this they were judged Youth Choir of the Year and also received the Listeners' Choice Award. In 2008 they were part of the Channel 7 Battle of the Choirs TV show, making it as far as the quarter finals, where they met their Waterloo with ABBA's song of the same name. Membership is drawn from state and independent secondary schools and universities and there is a strong emphasis placed on inclusion for any young man who enjoys singing and expresses a desire to develop as a musician. The repertoire consists of a little bit of everything - madrigals, movies, musicals, spirituals, shanties, serious songs, silly songs - everything. In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by Andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the Choir and took part in national and international Choir competitions where the Choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of the Choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national Choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international Choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the Choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian Choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. Our repertoire has about 80 a capella works (from medieval to contemporary composers), large sacred forms by Haendel, Mozart and Mendellsohn Bartholdy and 40 carols. We have performed at several festivals and international events (Germany, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria).
