Magpies & Ravens is a Chamber Choir made up of half professional musicians and half talented high school students.

In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in...  more"Ubi Caritas II: Through Infinite Ages" (Ola Gjeilo) is sung by the Central Washington University Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director). In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in recording 4 of his pieces. the other three were "Sanctus", "Luminous Night of the Soul", and "Vast Eternal Skies" This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas II" is from that session, which included a rendition on which the composer later joined the Choir and improvised an accompaniment. In this video the Choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version. This was Mr. Gjeilo's second time on our campus, the first was in the spring of 2011, which resulted in 5 videos and a DVD (http://goo.gl/Xld0o) As of 2013, the CWU Chamber Choir also has recorded videos of the music of Byrd, Monteverdi, Muehleisen, Singh, Victoria, and Rautavaara on YouTube. the other CWU Chamber Choir videos can be found at: www.youtube.com/CWUmusicdept OR - - ...    less

We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and have opportunities...  moreIrish Doctors Choir Members are enthusiastic and experienced singers, mostly, but not exclusively, doctors or medical students. We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and have opportunities to perform some of the great works from the classical choral repertoire to a high standard and in exciting venues. We also enjoy singing simple music well at smaller performances on our rehearsal weekends and at conference events. Although our performances are mostly in Ireland, we have quite a few singers from other countries, including UK, France, Germany and Sweden. During 2020, we have held online rehearsals using Zoom and produced two online concerts, raising 11,000 Euro for charity.  less

Our aim is to re-integrate singing into the daily routines of life. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Our repertoire consists of both traditional and new songs from many cultures. the majority are sung a cappella (unaccompanied) in 4-part harmony. the Choir is divided into three chapters, each practicing the same material on either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
