Kokopelli has been a featured ensemble at many events, provincially, nationally, and internationally. These include The Rocky Mountain National Music Festival, Podium (The biannual conference of The Association of Canadian Choral Communities), The regional conference of The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), The International Society of Music Educators conference, and oThers. In addition to many North American cities, The choir has toured to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Malaysia, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Zambia. Kokopelli is often The ambassador for The choir association and as such, has received several awards for Their work with Youth, music education, and The African Projects Fund. Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those interested to gaTher togeTher to sing, more formal concerts were later organized and presented. In addition to two planned concerts a year (a Christmas concert in The Fall and a Spring concert), There are frequently requests from local organizations for appearances. For example, in The spring of 2011, The group performed at The Wright BroThers Monument for The Centennial of The Wright BroThers Glider Flight. The repertoire of The Outer Banks Chorus ranges from The Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kinds and in different languages. Recently The Chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers. All are invited to hear The Chorus sing exceptionally lovely and wonderful choral music.  less
