We perform four concerts each year across three terms running from September to July. Our programme varies from stunning major choral works to satisfying chamber music programmes and the occasional light programme of popular numbers!
Singers are drawn not only from Fleet and the surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. Choir membership is currently around 50 Voices, many of whom have sung with the choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue.
We aim to broaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. Soloists are drawn from the choir, although for more complex works we often invite professional singers to participate.

Throughout its Long history, the Choir has performed almost every major choral work in the repertoire.
The Halifax Choral Society has always aimed high and has traditionally performed with first-rate orchestras, soloists and conductors.
Looking through the annals of the Society is to turn back the pages of musical history of the past two centuries.

We perform a wide repertoire of secular and sacred music, with and without accompaniment. Our concerts are at various venues in and around the borough, and once a year we perform with a small professional orchestra.
We also hold regular social gatherings, to include families and friends, and enjoy musical evenings and events.
Would you like to sing with us?
New members in all Voices are warmly welcomed. After a few weeks there is a short informal audition, which includes some sight-reading. Members are asked to pay a modest subscription of £11 per month by direct debit.
We rehearse weekly during term time on Monday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm, in the small parish hall at All Saints Church, Long Lane, Hillingdon, UB10 9BT. The small parish hall is behind the main church hall, and can be accessed from the side entrance. less

This is footage from their concert at St Stephani, Bremen in December, 2010.
The text of this piece is really cool. It is about a mystical tribe of desert women who would stamp their feet into the dust creating beautiful clouds. Light would shine through and create patterns and rainbows. Men would be attracted by these clouds and come to the women's camp. The Wirindji women would cook for them, mate with them then kill them and eat them! You can hear the beautiful sounds of the desert landscape, the clusters of sunlight and the dangerous moral :-)
