Vitoria's "Duo Seraphim" in the Slovakia Cantat 2011 International choir Competition, in which Bat-Kol won three gold medals as well as the Grand Prix (achieving the highest score among the 27 competing choirs of various types: women's choirs, men and mixed choirs). In addition, Anat was awarded the competition's Special Prize for Excellent Conducting Performance. Good Noise has performed with artists such as Barbra Streisand, David Foster, Josh Groban, Holly Cole, Daniel Lapp, Dee Daniels, Jim Byrnes, John Lee Sanders, Jennifer Scott, Karin Plato, Kate Hammett-Vaughan, and has appeared on CBC TV, CBC Radio, Global TV, CityTV, Bravo, Knowledge Network and Vision TV. The choir has performed at several festivals, including the Vancouver Folk Festival, Envision Jazz Festival and the Wintersong Festival. In the Fall of 2013, Good Noise was featured live in concert in an episode for a new television series on Vision TV, “Gospel To Go”. The choir has also been featured in a television Christmas gospel Music special “Tell It On The Mountain” on the Bravo Network, Vision Network and the Knowledge Network and featured in the Disney corporation’s promotion of the Musical “The Lion King”. Hailing from places as far afield as Truro and Coverack and ranging in age from thirty-something to eighty-something they unite once a week in Penryn to indulge and nurture their love of singing. The women of Mabe Ladies choir take their Music making very seriously, constantly striving to achieve the highest artistic and technical standards. That said, they do spend an inordinate amount of time laughing! Whether it’s in the rehearsal room or the concert hall the emphasis is on fun & enjoyment, for choir and audience alike. We live in the Isle of Man, a small island with a population of about 80,000 situated in the Irish Sea, between England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. It is a Crown Dependency which means it is a self governing possession of the British Crown. We are very proud of our parliament, Tynwald which claims to be the world's oldest parliament in continuous existence, dating back to 979. We also issue our own bank notes, coins and stamps and enjoy a unique perspective in terms of our language, (Manx Gaelic), history, Music and art. It is a beautiful island with very varied scenery. Together these w...  moreIn English- Chamber choir Cantinovum (established in 1989) is the Youthful and ambitious choir of the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (JAMK) directed by Rita Varonen. Their name originates from the Latin words canti and novum. Together these words become the identity of the choir and mean 'new song'. At present, there are approximately 30 singers in the choir for whom Music is a passionate interest – for many it is also a future profession. Many of the singers, either study or work at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences or the University of Jyväskylä. The repertoire of Cantinovum is colorful and varied. It spans from folk Music to sacred Music and from Renaissance to modern composers. It is very characteristic of Cantinovum to perform songs that have been specially composed for them. They have had the honour of premiering more than a dozen compositions both nationally and internationally.
