South Salem took FIRST Place at Oregon's State Competition. This was Their second song of four. This whole competition took Place at George Fox University in Newburg Oregon. The South Salem Saxons also took first at Their Districts festival in Salem/Keizer Oregon.

Op speciaal verzoek van een vaste kijker van Podium Witteman heeft de 25-jarige componist Mathilde Wantenaar dit werk geschreven. Wishful Singing gaf de première in de uitzending van 4 november 2018.
Podium Witteman omarmt de wereld van de klassieke muziek, maar zoekt ook de grenzen op met andere genres zoals pop, wereldmuziek, of jazz. Met ruimte voor bijzondere verhalen, jong talent en optredens van topmusici.
