The choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate chamber groups in the WeStern United States. This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance Standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum Singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber ArtiSts, and Salt Lake Vocal ArtiSts. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo DiStler. Dziesmuvara also participates in the Latvian Song Celebration feStivals and occasionally teams up with fellow university and youth choirs to sing together in Concerts. The more, the merrier!
