It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director from 1995 to 2023. Our current classical Musical Director is Matthew Thomas Morgan, and our current jazz Musical Director is Jill Jarman. The group comprises two classical choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and a much larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz choirs – an auditioned mixed Jazz ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-Female Jazz Choir. It also offers two different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more experienced singer. The Addison Singers normally operate on three 10-week terms (the same as the schools) with a concert or recital at the end of each term. Very high unpretentious music, the choir was created to provide coverage to the need to sing and further training of a group of friends singing around the figure of his teacher. The time spent on the trials is very low in comparison to a standard chorus but over the years has drawn new members, has taken on challenges in terms of repertoire, has been federated, offers concerts by the municipalities of Biscay, and share their work in exchanges with other choirs in and out of Euskadi.
