Chris has written many of show Of Hands’ big hits including, ‘Lily and the Rose’ which he wrote for Miranda Sykes and The Lost Sound. We’ve performed this together with show Of Hands, at their 25thAnniversary concert in The Royal Albert Hall in 2017. Chris explains the background of ‘Though We Lie Underground’ for us: I first came across the stories surrounding the curious tradition of West Country miners singing carols underground when listening to a recording of Alan Lomax’s extraordinary live BBC 1957 broadcast “Sing Christmas and the Turn of the Year”, a feat of radio genius involving hundreds of performers and groups all over the country, seamlessly brought together for one scintillating hour. Within this organisation, there are two sister groups: NOVA, the core group of singers performing to accompaniment and The Grace Notes who sing a cappella. Rehearsals are held Weekly and fundraising concerts for local charities are run each year in May and December.

The South Cape Children's Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, is one of the foremost regional children's choirs in South Africa. In 2010 it won the ATKV Animato Children's Choir Finals and the KKNK "Kanna" prize for best musical production (2013....  onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreone;">The South Cape Children's Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, is one of the foremost regional children's choirs in South Africa. During 2014 the SCCC won the "Musica Sacra" Open category of the World Choral Games, in Riga (2014) and all categories of the ATKV Animato Finals (2014), being awarded the prize of "Choir of the Competition." It has recorded eight cd's, one dvd; has toured Europe seven times and Talented choristers from several schools in the Garden Route region of South Africa's Western Cape Province are auditioned and rehearse every Friday in the city of George, under the direction of conductor Jan-Erik Swart. The SamiWeng Singers, the official SSAA choir of the Ilocos Norte National High School was officially founded in 2001 by Robert Caluya. Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA...  onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreone;">The SamiWeng Singers, the official SSAA choir of the Ilocos Norte National High School was officially founded in 2001 by Robert Caluya. Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The group performed in various events such as Miss Earth Pageant in 2003 and 2004. The group was also one of the featured artists in the Samu’t-Saring Tinig V at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; in a concert at the Clamshell in Intramuros in February 2003; and in the International Youth Music Festival sponsored by NAMCYA held at the CCP in December 2003. In 2004, the choir released its debut CD featuring Ilocano favourites and winning competition pieces. In 2005, the choir was handed over to its new conductor, Sherberk Cabrales.
