Our members are mainly from a... moreThe Mayo Male Voice Choir has been in existence for twelve Years, it has grown in strength this year from 26 to 42 members, and now has a wide and varied repertory featuring many favorites from light opera to popular musical. Our members are mainly from around The Castlebar area, but with five from Ballinrobe, more from Swinford, Kilkelly and Ballyglass we now truly represent our county.
Under The musical direction of Deirdre Lee, from Kiltimagh, Deirdre has been our musical director since The choir’s inception, an honors music graduate of University College Maynooth, having studied under Professor Gerard Gillen. She has been involved in many musicals and events as musical director, arranged and conducted. Deirdre is a teacher of music, choir and orchestra in St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar. She has arranged many of The pieces we perform in four part for male voice. which were previously not available to us.

The ZULULAND GOSPEL CHOIR was established in 2006 by Mr. Franklyn Mkhize and Mr. Alfred Banda. It consists of 27 members and a 5 piece band. Their ages range from 18 to 35 Years and They are based in Kwazulu Natal.
The members of this choir come from many different places around Zululand and 90% of Them are unemployed.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
• The main aim of this choir is to gaTher people who have The same vision togeTher to produce good ‘live’ performances. Also to record strong material and spread The word of God through music.
• To search for talent and make use of it in The most profitable way.
• To create job opportunities for The youth.
• To grow and develop artists in music.
• To make a difference in people’s lives by creating job opportunities.
WE audition artists who apply to us and Then choose The very best.
WE rehearse every weekend (Fridays and Saturdays) in Richards Bay.
WE compose songs and also encourage choir members to do The same.

Formed by Graham Taylor in 1983 as The New Glasgow Singers, a small group of passionate choral singers looking to take on some of The less well-known works in The choral repertoire, it has grown into an organisation that has around 100 members singing a wide range of musical genres but still with The core wish to seek out and perform The less familiar pieces.
We perform a regular series of concerts each year: The details for The current season can be seen here. The range of music includes serious classical works, programmes of choral classics, West End musical pieces and The lighter popular music included in our annual Christmas Cracker concert. Our full repertoire can be seen in our list of past concerts. Some notable highlights have been Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts and Mahler’s Eighth Symphony - The Symphony of a Thousand. less
