Oakland based, East Bay born and bred, OJC brings original arrangements of traditional and contemporary Vocal jazz to the Bay Area & beyond. In addition OJC presents an interactive Vocal jazz workshop to the Oakland Public Schools. A blending of hearts and voices can have so much power. These voices unite to share in their common love of jazz and to help promote the art form in new ways while respecting its cultural roots. OJC is funded mainly through its performances, grants and individual donations. Those dollars fund day-to-day operations, artistic and professional fees. But what keeps OJC’s collective heart beating most of all is the love of Jazz. less

With more than 80 years experience performing a cappella (unaccompanied) music and a repertoire that ranges from Vocal jazz to barbershop, Chutzpah! is "in your face" right from the start and with every chord. Our day jobs of (from top voice down) a lawyer, a voice teacher, a computer programmer, and an army officer don't exactly bring to mind outrageous laughter and tremendous harmonies, but that's just what Chutzpah! brings to every performance. less

A CAPPELLA ENSEMBLE is an amateur Vocal group that was born in February, 2015, with the goal to present itself at concerts, with choral works a cappella. However it does not exempt the work of works accompanied by instrumental ensemble, piano, etc.
This group's training base is four singers, two of them music professionals, malleable according to the repertoire, joining more singers if so required.
Being a recent ensemble, it premiered in the March 2015 concert with the Lenten Concert (Solidarity Concert in favor of Maria Lara) in the Chapel of Covão do Coelho and the Church of Minde, with works by T.L de Victoria, A. Caldara, A. Scarlatti, J.S. Bach, G. Orbán, etc.
Since its foundation the a cappella ensemble is directed and conducted by António Lourenço Menezes.

We are a group of friends who got to know each other while singing in the same academic or chamber choirs. Eventually, our passion for the classical music led us to create our own Vocal ensemble. In our repertoire there are also some pop music arrangements.

Initially, the singers performed mainly in their home town and neighbouring areas, actively accumulating experience for their first serious contest, the Latvian National Contest for Vocal Ensembles, in 1999. Success amongst the tough competition in the category of female ensembles encouraged the singers to participate in international contests, resulting only in awards.
Success increases the joy of singing and in order to spread positive emotions to a greater number of Vocal music admirers, Anima Solla began concert trips to the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Lithuania and Australia.
Anima Solla has three different concert programmes – sacred music, compositions of Latvian composers and folk song arrangements, as well as jazz and popular music.
The group has also recorded 3 CDs - Domine Dominus Noster which includes sacred music compositions, Vai tā mana vaina bija (Was it my fault) with different Latvian folk song arrangeme... less

Today, it is the most acclaimed Vocal group in the Hungarz, renowned for quality performances. The exceptional abilities of its members enables the choir to choose from a wide selection of repertoire, indeed. Whether it’s church music that you’re after, a powerful performance of contemporary music, enjoying short outtakes from Italian films accompanied by renditions of Italian bar music from the 1500’s until nowadays, or you just can’t resist an insightful staging of the works of Hungarian composer-giants, Liszt and Bartok, needless to say, you shall always be in for a treat with the Saint Ephraim Male Choir. less
