Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic Director Vince Peterson discussing the project, with footage from the November 2018 premiere at the Paul Taylor Dance Company Studios. The event culminated in a dance party encore with audience and Choir dancing together! After a simple lesson in the Obon dance from Shiga prefecture in Japan, the audience danced to a reprise of the final movement by the Choir and trio. With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities. Texas State University Singers rehearses Mondays from 5:00–6:30 PM (M222) and Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:00-3:20 PM (M222)  less
