Formed by Graham Taylor in 1983 as The New Glasgow Singers, a small group of passionate choral singers looking to take on some of The less well-known works in The choral repertoire, it has grown into an organisation that has around 100 members singing a wide range of musical genres but still with The core wish to seek out and perform The less familiar pieces.
We perform a regular series of concerts each year: The details for The current season can be seen here. The range of music includes serious classical works, programmes of choral classics, West End musical pieces and The lighter popular music included in our annual Christmas Cracker concert. Our full repertoire can be seen in our list of past concerts. Some notable highlights have been Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts and Mahler’s Eighth Symphony - The Symphony of a Thousand. less

Crossover projects are The hallmark of The Sonux Ensemble. TogeTher with The jazz-saxophonist Stefan Kuchel and The Sirius Quartet, The young Men's choir performs contemporary works. The Quartet members describe Themselves as artists of improvisation who break out of The conventional vocabulary of sound for a string quartet. Most pieces on this CD were written especially for The Sonux Ensemble, and thus composed to The singers' strengths. "We have worked on These pieces togeTher with The composers, and given Them Their first performances over The course of The last five years. This disc features only world premiere recordings and, literally, unheard of choral music, " The choir's director Hans-Joachim Lustig notes.
The works recorded on this CD focus on The topics of light and love. The eponymous poem by Charles Anthony Silvestri that lends its title to The disc frames and connects The two topics. Silvestri wrote The text in 2012, exclusively for this project. Hans-Joachim L... less
