The Sainte-Anne Singers is a Chamber ensemble founded in 1987 in Sainte-Anne de Bellevue (30 minutes west of Montreal), with the aim of exploring a wide range of a cappella repertoire.Their concerts generally include Renaissance, pop, jazz and contemporar...  moreThe Sainte-Anne Singers is a Chamber ensemble founded in 1987 in Sainte-Anne de Bellevue (30 minutes west of Montreal), with the aim of exploring a wide range of a cappella repertoire.Their concerts generally include Renaissance, pop, jazz and contemporary choral music, with an emphasis on Canadian composers and arrangers. The choir has a High calibre of Singers drawn by its demanding musical standard and the opportunity to explore recently created music. Among the group's twenty-four members are piano and voice teachers, soloists, choir directors, organists and others with musical training. The ensemble has previously reached the quarter- and semi-finals of the CBC Radio Competition for Amateur Choirs. In May 2010, they were awarded second place in the Chamber choir category of the National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs. They have performed twice at Podium, Canada's national choral conference, most recently in May 2014 in Halifax.  less

The choir covers a wide range of repertoire and styles, especially focusing on those that push choral music into new, exciting arenas. The U Chamber Choir performs numerous works by conductor Barlow Bradford, an active composer and arranger, as well as private commissions by other renowned composers. The Chamber Choir often collaborates with other ensembles, both from the School of Music and off campus, including Dr. Bradford’s professional choir, the Utah Chamber Artists. The choir was established in 1996 (originally in the Lehava High School for Girls) by singer/choral conductor Nomi Teplow with the goal of bringing together girls with musical ability to work on a Highly professional level and produce a wide variety of vocal music. The choir is comprised of 25-30 girls from areas throughout Samaria ranging in age from 13-18 years. The Shir-El choir performs in concerts and at vocal conventions across the country bringing fine singing, rich harmonies and words of hope, faith and love of Israel to a broad range of audiences. We aim to establish a strong group of Singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a cappella choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme.
