Since then, the ACS has established itself as a formidable presence in the Philippine musical landscape. Their unique specialization in sacred choral music has opened a richly eclectic mix of European, American and Asian choral literature that spans medieval to postmodern periods, traditional to contemporary styles, complex art music to highly-textured indigenous music, and moving sprituals to psalmody hewn out of traditional Asian musics. In 2006, the ACS made their mark abroad with Awit: The First ACS European Tour, representing the Philippines in two important choral events: the Polyfollia in France, a biennial international choral festival at Saint-Lo in La Manche, and the 38th Tolosa Choral Contest in Spain where they emerged as first prize winners in the polyphon...    less

The leaves unfurled on branches so lightly delicate and soft. The bells rang out so light and free in the cloudless sky Rhythmical and fervent a distant call like the anthems of old Called to mind the pure white lilies on holy altar's sacrifice Those bells spoke to me of happier times now gone And in the great wood they seemed to revive the faded leaves of days long since passed. singing translation (c) David W Solomons  less

We are an auditioning, non-professional Chamber Choir, performing a diverse programme of repertoire at regular intervals throughout the year. We draw our membership from the hugely successful EC4 Music, a Choir and orchestra that is widely regarded as one of the leading large amateur groups in London, and it is from this platform of success that CCoV takes its lead. EC4 Music recently performed at the Barbican for the fifth time, raising money for The Prince’s Trust and is also very excited to be making its Royal Festival Hall debut in October this year to mark the grand finale of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2011. Lord Mayor, Michael Bear's appeal supports children’s charity Coram and RedR, a charity that trains and provides engineers and other relief workers to respond to worldwide emergencies. The celebratory all-English programme concludes with Walton's stunning Belshazzar's Feast. With the aim of producing one of the best amateur Chamber choi...    less
