Since 2006, when Gary Weidenaar took the baton, the Choir has received invitations to appear at four state & regional conferences: Meticulous attention is given to performing music of various periods or parts of the world in the style appropriate to that era or culture including adjustments of not only style but tone color also. Recent clinics with guests Chanticleer and Weston Noble have helped the Choir grow and the Choir regularly premiers new works by composers.  less

We are a non-auditioned Community Choir, vibrant, fun and friendly, launched in Nov 2016. We welcome anyone aged 11+, no experience necessary. 3 concerts a year plus other performance opportunities. Inclusive and relaxed, free first session.

During its 55-year existence, the aim of the chorus has been development of artistic concert activities through the choral singing, interpretation of pieces of music of Slovak and foreign composers who write their pieces of music in the field of choral singing. The main credo is propagation of choral art and tradition and last but not least representation of City of Žilina and Slovakia all over the Europe and the world. Permanent and particularly important concert activity of the chorus has been cooperation with professional Štátny komorný orchester Žilina (State Chamber Orchestra Žilina) since 1990.
