The song 'Moon River' originally made famous in the film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn. The soloists in this song are Andrea Hope and Alan Beattie. Inclusive is the word which probably best describes Open Arts Community Choir. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the community in Northern Ireland. The age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of singing. The Ensemble performs in some of the most important music festivals in Israel, and has won first prize and a gold medal in the International Liturgic Music Competition for choirs 1996, sponsored by the Vatican. On 2001 Jerusalem A-Cappella Singers performed a world premier in Jerusalem and Italy of a Mass in Arabic by father Armando Pieruchi and in 2009 they were invited to take part in a special project for Christmas which was produced and filmed in Jerusalem by the BBC and forecasted later in England. Oakland based, East Bay born and bred, OJC brings original arrangements of traditional and contemporary Vocal jazz to the Bay Area & beyond. In addition OJC presents an interactive Vocal jazz workshop to the Oakland Public Schools. A blending of heArts and voices can have so much power. These voices unite to share in their common love of jazz and to help promote the art form in new ways while respecting its cultural roots.
