This auditioned choir has 150 adult mixed voices and 300 youth mixed voices rehearsing weekly to bring various masterworks, original pieces, collaborations and new arrangements to the ears of many. Doug Mears is the Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with the professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet the rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional chorus. FCS is honored to work with renown musicians, conductors and orchestras to present the finest Choral programs available. Sometimes we join other choruses to produce even larger musical works. Rory Wilson, an experienced Choral conductor from Edinburgh, has been appointed and has begun work with the Choir towards our first concert under his direction in November 2018, based around the Fire Songs of Morten Lauridsen, pairing his settings with settings of the same or similar texts by Renaissance composers.

The choir's mission is to nurture Bulgarian talent and instill a love for Choral art among young individuals aged 16 to 35. It honors Bulgaria's Choral traditions while occasionally embracing contemporary trends in Choral performance, employing techniques like body percussion and mise-en-scène to enhance their vocal craft. Founded as Pastoral - female chamber choir in 1987, nowadays the ensemble carries the name of its originator Irina Stiglich. Тhe choir's repertoire encompasses (or includes) works by both Bulgarian and international composers, spanning eras from the Renaissance to modern times. They've embarked on concert tours across the country and abroad participating in international Choral festivals and competitions. We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part Choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. We are always concerned with maintaining a good balance of voices, and we cannot promise to accept all applicants.
