The group was set up to perform exciting vocal material at a variety of events, and to give men and women who love singing, the platform to get involved in a fun and sociable Musical experience. The Voice Of The Town family has now grown and not only do we have our Choirs in Newcastle and Birmingham, but we also have Choirs in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The group performed in various events such as Miss Earth Pageant in 2003 and 2004. The group was also one of the featured artists in the Samu’t-Saring Tinig V at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; in a concert at the Clamshell in Intramuros in February 2003; and in the International Youth Music Festival sponsored by NAMCYA held at the CCP in December 2003. In 2004, the Choir released its debut CD featuring Ilocano favourites and winning competition pieces. In 2005, the Choir was handed over to its new conductor, Sherberk Cabrales.
