We specialIse in performing hit songs mainly from the 1980s as you've never heard them before. Why? Because the majority of our songs are arranged specially for us by our ridiculously talented in house music team. We perform all over London in clubs and pubs and can be relied upon to bring a sparkle to any occasion, as Musical Director Kat Yates explains: "In KIs (as we're known to our friends) we've really put the emphasIs on fun - and our audiences relate to thIs. As a result we've performed at festivals, events and celebrations all over London and people always ask us back for more. Plus we sing all your favourite 80s songs - what more could you want ?" The text Is from Robert LouIs Stevenson’s 1885 A Child’s Garden of Verses. The choir begins by emulating the sound of the wind, and then sings directly to the wind, describing the many things the wind does while questioning just who or what the wind Is. The piece, inspired by Kodály’s philosophy, develops a folk-like melody in a modern context. The rhythmic piano accompaniment keeps the piece bouncing brightly until its exciting conclusion. Premiere performance by the 2016 OAKE National Children's Choir, Elizabeth Núñez, director. The Wind by Robert LouIs Stevenson I saw you toss the kites on high And blow the birds about the sky; And all around I heard you pass, Like ladies' skirts across the grass— O wind, a-blowing all day long, O wind, that sings so loud a song! I saw the different things you did, But always you yourself you hid. I felt you... Is).getParent().getPrevious().style.dIsplay='';$(thIs).getParent().style.dIsplay='none';">less

Performed live at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 6, 2012. Text: In winter I get up at night And dress by yellow candle-light. In summer quite the other way, I have to go to bed by day. I have to go to bed and see The birds still hopping on the tree, Or hear the grown-up people's feet Still going past me in the street. And does it not seem hard to you, When all the sky Is clear and blue, And I should like so much to play, To have to go to bed by day?
