The group me...  moreMind & Soul is a community choir based at the Maudsley Hospital in South London, which is open to SLAM service users/staff, their friends and carers, local people and anyone who accesses mental health services, as well as those who don't. The group meets every Wednesday evening in the gym at the Maudsley Hospital, 115 Denmark Hill SE5 8AZ between 6-7pm. Our patron is the wonderful Mary King.

Ably assisted by, now ...  moreThe Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 gathering together a group of like-Minded individuals of Welsh heritage sought to kindle the spirit of traditional Welsh male voice singing in their adopted country. Ably assisted by, now emeritus, music director David Low, the founding members saw their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. the choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist Matthew Coons. Although many of the current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, the TWMVC now has members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on the great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of the mountains and valleys of Wales. At the same time it emphasizes a multicultural context in its broad repertoire which also includes spirituals; operatic arias, Canadian folk songs as well as Broadway show tunes and contemporary music. Co-directed by Peter Ness and Asher Farber, with piano accompaniment, the choir requires no auditions, just a love of singing and the ability to carry a tune! We rehearse from September to June on Tuesday evenings in the Bathurst and Finch area. We also perform regularly for seniors at residences in the GTA.
