Today, the group is composed of Male choristers from different backgrounds: most of whom have contributed significantly to the growth of the Ateneo choral community.
ALERON, being an all-Male ensemble, is geared towards exploring the Male choral soundscape. Through innovative programming and the performance of repertoire across musical styles and genres, the group aims to deliver to its audiences a diverse and unique choral experience. ALERON envisions to broaden the all-Male choral genre by continuously premiering new works of select resident composers and arrangers throughout its concert seasons.

The Cwmbach Choir was formed in 1921, and has survived to the present day even though it was severely tested by periods of hardship, depression and the Second World War. During it's 90 years it has flourished and built up an enviable record of success in competitions and concert performances.
Its success in competition,particularly eisteddfodau, was established in its early days. The first taste of success was second prize at Treorchy in 1928, followed by Cardiff in 1938 and Ebbw Vale in 1958. The first prize was ultimately achieved at Port Talbot in 1966 and repeated in 1968 at Barry.
During the 1950's when the Although in recent times the Choir has not been nearly as active in the competitive arena, it was successful in taking First prize in the Male Choir competition at the Limerick Festival of 1996 in Ireland. We aim to be the most entertaining Male voice Choir in the South West and for the City of Truro to be proud of us. The ethos of the Choir is to have fun and enjoy singing. Each year we host a visiting Choir and also spend a weekend away.
We are a registered charity, and our current membership is over 50.We give approximately a dozen concerts a year less

During the Choir’s existence, it has taken part in many musical festivals, and proven its quality by winning many first prizes, and has been joined in concert by world renowned soloists and Choirs from Britain and America.
Every year, the Choir perform around twenty concerts throughout Cumbria, raising thousands of pounds for charitable organisations and other worthy causes. The services of the Choir are provided entirely free of charge to the organisations they perform for.
Outside the county they have performed in such notable venues as The Royal Albert Hall, London; on three occasions, Cardiff Arms Park; twice, Sheffield Arena and in Edinburgh.
