In questo video vi presentiamo la nostra interpretazione di "In the Bleak Midwinter", uno dei canti natalizi più amati della tradizione corale internazionale. La melodia, composta da Gustav Holst nel 1906, sposa perfettamente i versi malinconici e delicati della poetessa Christina Rossetti, creando un momento di profonda riflessione e pace. L'esecuzione cerca di trasmettere il calore del dono descritto nel testo: nel freddo gelido di un inverno senza fine, ciò che conta non è la ricchezza materiale, ma l'offerta del proprio cuore.  less

A version for 3 part mixed choir (Soprano, Alto and Men) and organ is also available at: http://dwsolo.musicaneo.com/sheetmusic/sm-185192_mass_for_three_part_mixed_choir_and_organ.html Because of its gently exotic modal flavours, the music was deemed to have a ring of "oriental promise" by one appreciative member of the congregation at the first performance. This setting has been sung in Cathedrals in Manchester, Southwell and Dublin and the Agnus has also featured in services at Christ Church Didsbury. The recording here is the Agnus dei sung by the Voluntary Choir of Manchester Cathedral during their visit to Southwell Minster.  less

World premiere performance of Agnus dei by Chris Artley, given in August 2015 by the Metropolitan Chorus of Tokyo conducted by Ko Matsushita. Agnus dei won 3rd prize in the 1st Japan International Choral Composition Competition 2015.
