Jeff Brechlin won The Washington Post's Style Invitational in March 2003 with his poem The Hokey Poke. The competition asked readers to rewrite some banal instructions in the stvle of a famous writer. Brechlin chose to rewrite one verse of the traditional dance song The Hokey Pokey as if written by William Shakespeare, for which he won the prize of a shotgun shell salt and pepper shaker. His poem is used with permission.

WYV is run by a team of experienced volunteers who give their time freely to be able to pass this experience on - the team consists of two primary school teachers, two doctors and a critical care nurse!
Warwickshire Young voices provide high quality musical activities for children from age 2 to age 16 through a range of classes, choirs and workshops.
In all activities, Warwickshire Young voices prides itself on professionalism - with performances reaching the highest standards. Their Musical Director, and resident composer, often writes music specifically for the children.
Warwickshire Young voices are a busy group. In addition to the weekly classes and rehearsals, WYV has around 20 public performances a year – just within term time. These engagements i... less

comes originally from my cantata “The Manchester Magnificat”,
based on Audrey Vaughan’s poems about the religious and social history of the city.
The oratorio was first performed in Manchester Cathedral in 1994.
This psalm forms the climax of the whole cantata and provides an expression of optimism after the
tragedies of the previous sections.
In this “extracted” version, the tragic surroundings of the history remain
in the background and the purebubbling joy of the psalm itself shines forth.
Enjoy the complex rhythms and let your hair down!
This performance by Daniel Shaw's Composer's Choir (based in Connecticut)
is a brilliant rendition of the piece and will, I hope,
encourage other church choirs and concert choirs to consider including it in their repertoire.

Jazzva's repertoire consists of many different genres, pop, rock, classical music, jazz, arrangements of folk songs and many more. As experienced choir singers, they are used to singing with as well as without electronic amplification. They also try to incorporate some choreography to their own music, thus making it even more interesting and fun.
At the moment, Jazzva is officially the best a-cappella group in Slovenia. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Jazzva won at Sredi zvezd, the Slovenian national pop-jazz a-cappella competition three consecutive times. They also got a prize for the best vocal arrangement of the competition all three times (the last two years the arrangements were made by the group's artistic director Jasna Žitnik).
