The FGC "Golden Girls are proud of being the founder members of this young up and coming Girls Choir in the Western Cape. FGC is a High School Choir that is comprised of girls between the ages of 13 and 18.

Our mission as an ensemble is to connect with the community and each other through the exploration of quality choral music, including the promotion of women composers, within an engaging, encouraging, and intergenerational environment focused on healthy vocal technique and artistic excellence. We encourage those with children to join us as we have a tandem youth choral program (Consonare Youth Choirs) that rehearses at the same time.  less

The group performs repertoire that expresses a uniquely feminine spirit, especially works that promote the best interests of women in society. Vox Grata sings concert programs that directly benefit the needs of women in the Nashville community. The singers also enjoy the opportunity to mentor exceptional high school and college-aged women who participate in the Choir as part of its choral scholar program.  less

From breakfast on through all the day At home among my friends I stay, But every night I go abroad Afar into the land of Nod. All by myself I have to go, With none to tell me what to do — All alone beside the streams And up the mountain-sides of dreams. The strangest things are there for me, Both things to eat and things to see, And many frightening sights abroad Till morning in the land of Nod. Try as I like to find the way, I never can get back by day, Nor can remember plain and clear The curious music that I hear.  less
