The group was set up to perform exciting vocal material at a variety of events, and to give men and women who love singing, the platform to get involved in a fun and sociable musical experience. The Voice Of The Town family has now grown and not only do we have our choirs in Newcastle and Birmingham, but we also have choirs in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We currently have about 30 members and we sing a wide range of music from all around the world. We sing both acapella and with piano accompaniment but there is no requirement to be able to read music. We put on concerts twice a year and recently enjoyed singing at the Barnes Fair. We also meet outside rehearsal times for social events! Recruitment: We would love to recruit new members and welcome anyone that wants to come along and see what it's all about. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and the chord just locks together and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for the public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time together as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gather and enjoy their interest in singing.
