Aimed mainly at singers in the "young professional" category, it is for people who are looking for a choir with a difference - a Great social atmosphere and a challenging, varied repertoire. An auditioned choir of around 25 members, Tamesis is a high-standard choir, capable of singing 8-part repertoire on a few rehearsals and having fun while doing it! We've just recorded our second CD which will be released in Autumn 2012.

Student membership includes students from all disciplines that love to sing and enJoy camaraderie through Great music. It is intended to provide a foundation in area of vocal technique while achieving a high standard of excellence in repertoire selected from all periods and musical styles. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester.  

We are a chorus of around 100 active members formed in January of 2017 from two former, Regional championship, Sweet Adeline choruses known as Great Lakes Chorus and Spirit of Detroit. We won our first Regional competition and are preparing to compete at International contest in October. Psalms 39:24 The year started with bright hope for a promising Great year, yet the treat of a deadly virus lingered in our ears. In February, COVID caused some concern in America as people were being warned of the implications the virus could bring when it came from overseas. By March, our government told us we needed to stay home as the virus was deadly to all age groups and almost impossible to avoid. Most necessities, like toilet paper and cleaning products, were gone from the shelves of all stores making people worry how fighting this treat would be possible. Throughout the country, several people offered to help neighbors, friends, and family as they self-quarantined and socially distanced from each, as we were told it was our best defense against the upcoming pandemic.
