We are based in Chicago's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra Musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer singers come from throughout the Chicago area for a unique Musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed Choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and Music theory. Anchored in the belief of uplifting the appreciation of choral singing and Music in the community, it focuses in creating an environment of Musical connoisseurship and in becoming ambassadors of Music from the city to the world. A wide array of repertoire includes classic to modern among others. It seeks to promote the appreciation of chorale Music and chorale singing in Malabon City. Out he walks, six feet tall, twenty two years, ripped jeans, but respectable (it's Saturday after all). He's no threat he's going to cruise the shops. Along she walks with her groceries old, frail, her life hangs behind her like a snail-trail, dirty but still quite natural. Her eyes focus, she sees him: the determined stride and the baseball cap, the torn pants and his Walkman. Fearful, frightened, full of disgust and mistrust, she crosses the street, scowling like a scornful cat that's just been thrown off a lap. I felt ashamed, I felt annoyed What about trust? I just wouldn't react that way. But then, as a youth approached me I had a sudden and crucial thought. I don't want to be smashed up and I don't want to lose these things that I've just bought. So I crossed the street and silently became a product of this century.  less

Performing live on stage around London with guest singers such as Jacqui Dankworth, VIVE brings rich, diverse harmonies with a fresh, contemporary sound, taking inspiration from the legendary Take 6 and the Real Group! Under the direction of artistic director John William Trotter, the group spans a repertoire from Gregorian chant to the Beatles and beyond and is known for its performances of sacred works, vocal jazz and pop, folk and international Music, as well as a special focus on Music written in the present generation. We won our first Regional competition and are preparing to compete at International contest in October.
