We Annually we p...  moreCarlow Choral Society Carlow Choral Society is a mixed-voice choir of over 60 members (SATB) directed by Blánaid Murphy, Musical Director of the Palestrina Choir, St. Mary’s ProCathedral Girls Choir, Dublin Bach Singers and RIAM Choir. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many Choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 the choir recorded a Christmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm. Fast balladenhaft setzt der Sopran mit der eingängigen Melodie ein, ruhig begleitet vom restlichen Chor, um das wunderbare Ereignis der Geburt Jesu im mehrfach wieder erklingenden, gemeinsamen Alleluia zu feiern. The magic of Christmas and the incarnation of Jesus have been directly blended in the music of this moving O magnum mysterium by Chris Artley. This Choral piece, which Artley composed for the Nelson Summer School Choir, begins with the voices arranged calmly arising while the words "O magnum" are reiterated.
