We are an auditioned chamber choir of 30-40 members who love sharing the joy of choral singing with each other and our community. Our regular season consists of at least 4 concerts featuring a variety of musical genres and styles. Because we seek to create meaningful musical experiences, we value interaction and education in our performances. Our audience members often tell us how much they love learning about the music from our director’s comments, which help them more fully enter into the music and enjoy it.  less

My love is far from here I sense in my dreams that she's dreaming of me far off in that country dreaming that we shall once more sing our old song We'll sing in harmony longing for the day when harmony can soothe our sorrows and make us smile to think that harmony can soother our sorrows dreams far off.

ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestr...  moreElmhurst Choral Union sings choral-orchestral masterworks of all eras, from Buxtehude and Sweelinck to John Rutter and Karl Jenkins. We are based in Chicago's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our Singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer Singers come from throughout the Chicago area for a unique musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory.
