Initially, the singers performed mainly in their home town and neighbouring areas, actively accumulating experience for their first serious contest, the Latvian National Contest for Vocal Ensembles, in 1999. Success amongst the tough competition in the category of female ensembles encouraged the singers to participate in international contests, resulting only in awards. Success increases the joy of singing and in order to spread positive emotions to a greater number of vocal music admirers, Anima Solla began Concert trips to the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Lithuania and Australia. Anima Solla has three different Concert programmes – sacred music, compositions of Latvian composers and folk song arrangements, as well as jazz and popular music. We are a registered charity and normally raise many thousands of pounds for both local and national charities through our Concerts. We have links with choirs in Italy and Germany and we meet with these choirs every couple of years for a musical event that we call Harmony in Europe
