In 2005 the local Council of the borough of North Down conferred the status of Borough Ambassador on Bangor Ladies Choir. This is the first conferment ever to an external Organisation outside of the Council Membership and the Choir were privileged and proud to accept this unique position. Each Musical season of „LELIUMAI“ is designated to performances of Choir Music to the listeners in cities and towns in Lithuania, extraordinary festivals and meetings with the Choirs abroad, unforgetable participation in Lithuanian Song festivals. During its history „LELIUMAI“ has been awarded the highest titles in national Choir competitions in Lithuania, has won the third prize at the international Choir competition in Ireland (Cork) in 1983.
