Founded by a group of choral Music lovers in 2002, KCC has leaded the choral Music community to an unceasingly advancement in southern Taiwan. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary chamber Choir Music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices. Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the Choir’s caliber in 2007. This program recruited a few young talented singers to act as voice teachers in the Choir, such as Hua-chen Liang, Je-jium Chan and Ying-jen Yao, and offers Music theory, body movement and dancing lessons to its members as part of this Elite Workshop program. Its aims are to rehearse and perform a wide variety of Music to a high standard, and to engage with the local community, both in its membership and by bringing top quality performances to the local area and beyond. One objective is to expand the contemporary amateur vocal repertoire, which is less developed than the instrumental repertoire.
