We perform four concerts each year across three terms running from September to July. Our programme varies from stunning major choral works to satisfying chamber music programmes and The occasional light programme of popular numbers!
Singers are drawn not only from Fleet and The surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. Choir membership is currently around 50 voices, many of whom have sung with The choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue.
We aim to bRoaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. Soloists are drawn from The choir, although for more complex works we often invite professional singers to participate.

There has been a long tradition of musical excellence at St Laurence’s. The original church, built in The 1880s, had a strong choir of men and boys who took part in The Festival of Britain services in 1951.
When The new church was opened in 1968, The musical tradition continued. A new Walker organ was installed in The church, using some pipework from The old organ and Directors of Music have included David Sanger, Professor Roger Wibberley, Paul Dewhurst, Tom Fowkes, Marcus Wibberley, Iain Simcock and Andrew Ibbotson. The current Director of Music is Huw Morgan.
Girls were first admitted to The choir some ten years ago, but The choir remains unique in this part of south-east London in that it continues to use only trebles (girls and boys) on The top line. The lower parts are provided by volunteer adults from The local community. Young people receive an excellent musical education, and ... less

The chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at The same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and The chord just locks togeTher and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong.
We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for The public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time togeTher as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gaTher and enjoy Their interest in singing.
The Harbour Capital Chorus was formed in Wellington on February 4th, 1988 following pioneering work by The “Co-ordinated Chemists” Quartet for several years prior to that. The Harbour Capital Chorus has since ... less

As a result of The love They had for choir music, They felt a need for a school choir to be established. From The first year of its existence, choir was trained and prepared for The schools’ eisteddfods by two fellow students. In 1998, They both matriculated.
In The following year These students continued with The choir training and were compensated for Their services by The School Governing Body (SGB). In 2001 They were snatched by nearby schools that were willing to pay Them better wages and The SGB had to look for oTher people who could assist with choir training from The community. This continued until 2004, when The school employed a teacher who studied music at university.
