The Tullamore Academy Chamber choir was founded in September 2007 as part of a performing group’s initiative undertaken by The Academy of Music in Tullamore.
Each choir member has a different and wide-ranging background in solo, operatic and competitive performance, which enhances the choir’s ability to undertake some of the more challenging choral works and contributes to their fresh and unique sound. The Academy Chamber choir’s repertoire spans from early to contemporary music.

In October 2012, the choir was awarded the prestigious title of choir of the Year 2012, after an extensive UK-wide search and a competitive Grand Final held at London's Royal Festival Hall. The ensemble was established in 2007 by present musical director Andrew Nunn and performs regularly across Scotland and beyond, having given concerts in renowned venues such as Glasgow Cathedral, the SECC, Dunkeld Cathedral, Paisley Abbey, the Mackintosh Church, the Queen's Hall, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and London’s Cadogan Hall. The choir has also performed in more obscure locations, having “sung on the subway” as part of the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) promotion of the Glasgow underground.
As well as their victory in the choir of the Year competition, the choir reached the semi-final stage of BBC1’s Last choir Standing in 2008. T... less

The choir has close links with the Greek-catholics (in Ukraine). For decades, the choir strived to keep Ukrainian (liturgical and worldly) culture alive. It did so whilst the Greek-catholic Church fought to survive its suppressors. It continues to do so, joining in the happiness of the Greek-catholics' freedom today.
The choir was founded by Ukrainian born and raised musicologist Myroslaw Antonowycz (+2006). At present, the Utrecht Byzantine choir is directed by Grigori Sergei Sarolea. Grigori was born and raised in a Slavic-byzantine church community in The Hague.
You are listening to the 'Veruju' (Credo) by M. Antonowycz. It is taken from the album: 'Goddelijke Liturgie' (Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) .
