Known for its’ varying repertoire, ranging from adaptations of classical music, jazz standards, folk and rock arrangements to dancehall and hip hop songs, the ensemble is lead by choir director and music teacher Mrs. Susanne Faatz. “JazzVocals” was founded twenty years ago and is one of Berlin’s veteran jazz/pop aCAPPELLA ensembles.

We aim to establish a strong group of singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a CAPPELLA choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme. Singers are expected to be confident singers with some sight reading experience, be prepared to tackle unusual vocal techniques and unconventional pieces. We are committed to building community through excellence in a CAPPELLA harmony, and we love to learn. We rehearse weekly to improve our vocal skills and build lasting friendships in the process. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive by working together to achieve shared goals. We sing a range of repertoire from jazz standards to 21st-century pop, barbershop to show tunes, but most importantly we sing a CAPPELLA. As well as entertaining audiences across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne we compete regularly in barbershop harmony competitions at a national level. Concerts by the group feature a CAPPELLA music of Scandinavia and the Baltics, as well as North-American co...  moreFormed in 2006 by conductor Michael Zaugg, voces boreales is an elite vocal ensemble, performing to great acclaim in Montreal and its surrounds. Concerts by the group feature a CAPPELLA music of Scandinavia and the Baltics, as well as North-American composers. Music by composers such as Mäntyjärvi, Daniel-Lesur, Rautavaara, Martin and Pärt are ideal showcases for the choir’s lush and full sound. Members of the group are dedicated to excellence in rehearsing and performing. With a repertoire consisting of 8 to 16-part music, the twenty singers are mostly performing as soloists. Now in its fifth season, voces boreales has already performed in a number of prestigious concert series, such as the National Arts Centre eXpres- sion series, Musique Chez Nous at Bishop's University, Mondial Choral Laval and the Montreal International Bach-Academy. The ensemble voces boreales is produced by the Montreal Choral Institute and appears in its various educational events, such as the Montreal Choral Masterclass.  less
