It is well known as an ico...  moreGOSPEL SINGERS WANTED, Audition 5th & 6th July 2021 – Black History Month Background Union Chapel is a historic church based in Islington with a small but enthusiastic congregation looking to expand our horizons. It is well known as an iconic music venue attracting major artists. It is also a centre for social justice and community activities. In recent years, the church has been developing music in our Sunday services with a range of genres, classical, jazz, gospel, and world music. The church has also created several unique events led by our musicians. These have included our annual Christmas Candlelight service, Good Friday evening performances and smaller events to commemorate such occasions as Black History Month, a remembrance event in the Covid pandemic. Besides the usual church festivals, we also have special services for Refugee Week, Gay Pride, Holocaust Memorial, and other special commemorations. In the present time, Antiphona acts as an nonprofit civil association of culture promotion. The choir has been conducted by Mtro. Juan Carlos Bersague from 1995 to 2008. From 2010, Antiphona Titular Conductor is Mtro. César Alejandro Carrillo.
