EnChor began singing together in the fall of 2005. We are an auditioned group of approximately 32 Singers, coming from a broad cross section of the Calgary and area community. EnChor proudly highlights the work of Canadian artists, and includes Canadian content in every concert. An important part of our directive is to collaborate with fellow Calgary artists. We have shared our concerts with Paul Rumbolt and Friends, Players Ensemble, The Calgary Men’s Chorus, the Calgary Renaissance Singers, Foothills Brass, One Accord, Youth EnChor, Corps Bara Dance Theatre, Cum Vino Cantus, UofC Orchestra, Calgary jazz musician Gerry Hebert, and story-teller Jan McLean.  less

The choirs are famous in Kingston and beyond for joyful concerts full of non-traditional staging, diverse repertoire and singing demonstrating great skill and enthusiasm. Cantabile now includes six choirs and over 250 voices, performing music which engages and entertains at every event. From the beginning, Cantabile has provided musical education for choristers and audiences through this high standard of performance and quality choral literature. Cantabile’s choral season of five themed concerts, which often include invited guests of national and international acclaim, attracts a sell-out audience in our performance home, Sydenham Street United Church, Kingston, Ontario Canada.  less

Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-members of the Wonderboom High School Choir to continue singing together after matriculating, it has since evolved to include members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age. The choir has toured and performed across South Africa during the past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and other charitable events as they are performing alongside the best choirs in the world on International stages, for instance, at the 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where they took home a silver medal (79.5%) in the champion’s category for mixed adult choirs. This is the encore performance from Cuore's 'Mirabilia' concert on 27th Ap...  moreA virtuosic setting by Polish composer Michał Ziółkowski (b. 1991) of this Goliardic ode to drinking, 'popularised by Carl Orff as one of the movements in his 'Carmina Burana'. This is the encore performance from Cuore's 'Mirabilia' concert on 27th April 2024, at which we were privileged to give the Irish premiere. 'In taberna quando sumus' (‘when we are in the tavern’) begins as a militaristic account of the immoral acts of the inebriated crowd, and the march soon descends into anarchy with a list of merrymakers joining in the mischief: included are mistress, master, priest, pauper, men, women, white, black, the Pope, old ladies, mothers, children, merchants, Christians, the smart, and the lazy. The composer writes: “In my imagination, the piece is a fusion of primal energy, irony, and dark grotesque, envisioning an ecstatic celebration akin to a lively party at Bacchus’ house.”. He fuses percussive lyrics, energetic rhythms and sometimes almost drunken modulations to capture this raucous mood.  less

Sus integrantes realizan esta actividad en forma vocacional y en su gran mayoría realizan actividades y estudios distintas a la actividad musical. En 2010 obtuvo el diploma de Bronce en la Octava Competencia Internacional de Coros de Elsenfeld, Alemania. Director: Andrés Aciar The Choir of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters - Buenos Aires University- is a grouping conformed by both students of this institution of higher education and members of the community. Their members perform this activity in vocational fashion and the great majority of them has main occupations and studies that are not related to musical activity.
