Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for The Choir, as well as creating lively and contemporary arrangements of traditional carols. The release of Their first CD Qui creavit celum, celebrated The Stairwell Carollers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 They released I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. Their very first madrigal CD, Audite nova, was released in October of 2006 and Their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked The release of Their first CD of sacred songs from The Renaissance, Cantate Domino, Their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now available for purchase. Winner of The 2010 OMFA provincial competition, They are ranked amongst The best of Canada's Choirs. This is our first virtual Choir, created October-December 2020 on Dharug, Eora and Kuring-gai land. After performing Ola Gjeilo's 'The Ground' in our final Concert in 2019, we were preparing it again for our 'Indomitable Spirit' Concert in May 2020. Then, Covid-19 arrived. Like many Choirs, we kept going online, or outdoors when permitted. This film is a record of our year, made to remind ourselves that joy and connection are still available to us, despite distance and change.
