We sing a-cappella style music in four-part harmony, called Barbershop. The songs we sing are varied, some old classics, some modern with a twist! In an effort to stay committed to singing and performing at the highest possible level, we compete each year in a national contest and we also perform our own annual Show to raise our profile in the community. We can be seen and heard throughout the year, performing for major corporations, civic and charitable organizations, private groups, churches, community events, and fundraisers. The Girl Choir of South Florida is the premier singing ensemble for young women in the tri-county area. The Girl Choir, led by Artistic Director Wallis Peterson, has been extolled by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel as “imaginative, accessible, expressive, and entertaining”, gaining a reputation for delivering compelling Concert programming. The Girl Choir’s repertoire is broad, from ancient to modern, classical to popular, sacred to secular, and folk to Broadway, encompassing many cultures, faiths, and traditions. Over the past seven seasons, the Girl Choir has commissioned and premiered works by noted Choral composers, including Eleanor Daley, Bob Chilcott, and David Brunner. The Southwest Women's Chorus of Temecula, California, presents a medley of songs from "Les Miserables". Many songs are represented and the arrangement by Ed Lojeski is excellent. Our soloists are Adriana Burchard, Alecia Ghilarducci, and Anna Yamasaki.

We have about 25 members currently, but we are gaining new members each year. We put on two "shows" each year to raise funds that benefit the chorus as a whole. We also perform throughout the year at various venues - retirement communities, nursing homes, churches, banquets, and other events.

Our aim was to capture a serious English Boys Choir poise while making the most of the poems playful spookiness, so we elicited help from the men of the chorus to try and 'frighten' the women singing.
