We do a wide variety of music from Renaissance to contemporary and from a cappella to works with Chamber orchestra. We are a fun loving, very friendly group. However, our music comes first and hard work is required of all. An audition is required. Our Music Director is William R. Thomas.

In the beginning, Greenwood singers specialized in the performance of a cappella music from different stylistic periods. Its programming has now expanded to include works with soloists, instrumental ensembles and Chamber orchestra. A versatile ensemble, the Choir has performed frequently with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a wide variety of programs which have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Holst’s The Planets, family Christmas concerts, the concert version of Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Orff’s Carmina Burana (with the Alberta Ballet) and the ESO’s 1992 reunion with the British rock group, Procol Harum. A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first year in our 43-year history we have no live concerts, so we present this Virtual Concert of 6 carols. I am proud of my musical colleagues for putting these videos together. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow Choir members, and for their diligence in preparing individual performances to such a demanding degree of musicianship. We all share an understanding of how important it is right now to share the joy of song with the world.
