This Lovely anthem by the German composer, conductor and pianist Otto Goldschmidt (1829 - 1907) was made famous by its regular inclusion at the Advent Carol Services at St John's College, Cambridge under the direction of the late Dr George Guest.

This performance was recorded on 5th December 2010 in the Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar in Leeds' magnificent Victoria Quarter in the first of St Peter's Singers' now-traditional annual series of Sunday evening carol concerts there.
The choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director since the Singers' formation in June 1977.
