Our performances reflect this belief in Their use of such seasonal Themes as ‘freedom’ and ‘healing’ and ‘our moTher earth;’ and in presentation of mostly new music in a way that is accessible. Our educational programs reflect this belief by training emerging professionals, planting seeds within young people for a lifetime of music involvement, and growing The skills of our own members. Our commitment to new choral music reflects this belief even beyond our substantial performance commitment through Project Encore™ and our Featured Composer Program. Footage was taken from a recent rehearsal at Knox Grammar School on The North Shore of Sydney, Australia. This superb venue has a naturally occurring 5 second reverb, this recording was not enhanced in any way and was taken straight from a JVC HD Camera mixing in Final Cut Pro.

It’s been at least 15-20 years now that we have participated in numerous festivals and concerts all over Greece but also all over Europe. In 2005, as adults, we decided to establish this particular group with The assistance of The Children’s Choir. We have given concerts in Hungary, in several cities in Greece and especially in Chalkidiki. In 2011 new members have been included in The group and we have changed our name into “THAMYRIADES”. Our repertory extends from classical to rock, pop and musical. You will have The opportunity to listen to us in selected halls. In Greek mythology, Thamyris (Greek: Θάμυρις), son of Philammon and The nymph Argiope, was a Thracian singer who was so proud of his skill that he boasted he could outsing The Muses. The choir has with its conductor Jan Yngwe toured The better part of Europe, as well as Japan (1989), Cuba (1995), South Africa (1999) and Brazil (2004), in all some thirty international concert tours.

The performance tour also included oTher modern works, such as Eric Whitacres "Sleep" and "Lux Aurumque", Frank Ticheli's "There Will Be Rest", and Dan Forrest's "Selah".

TogeTher with The Jazz-saxophonist Stefan Kuchel and The Sirius Quartet, The young men's choir performs contemporary works. The Quartet members describe Themselves as artists of improvisation who break out of The conventional vocabulary of sound for a string quartet. Most pieces on this CD were written especially for The Sonux Ensemble, and thus composed to The singers' strengths. "We have worked on These pieces togeTher with The composers, and given Them Their first performances over The course of The last five years. This disc features only world premiere recordings and, literally, unheard of choral music, " The choir's director Hans-Joachim Lustig notes. The works recorded on this CD focus on The topics of light and love. The eponymous poem by Charles Anthony Silvestri that lends its title to The disc frames and connects The two topics.
