Since then, we've been growing in quality, number of singers, range of repertory, and we've won two National awards in Spain in choir contests. We like to touch the audience with our style. The text is adapted from the E.E. Cummings poem of the same name. Composer Gwyneth Walker writes: "This is a poem of grandeur and of praise. Therefore it might be expected that this musical setting would aim at vastness, grandeur and awakening." Walker accomplishes this through a variety of means. First, the piano introduction includes slowly unfolding piano arpeggios which focus on open intervals of octaves, fifths and fourths, exploiting the full range of the piano keyboard. The composer also takes the singers on a harmonic journey which begins in a low register in C minor, and then travels through a number of other key areas until it reaches the distant key of G-flat. At this point, the voices are drawn closely together into a tone cluster containing the pitches G-flat, A-flat and B-flat, only to open apart into the glorious C major chords which conclude the ...    less

Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events such as Glastonbury Festival 2013 Opening Ceremony, and the United Nations World Environment Day concert in Staines and in Oxford Street, central London. We welcome men and women of all abilities, and sessions are taught by ear so no experience is needed, just a passion for singing and a love of the earth! Our Musical Director is the renowned Susie Ro Prater who has supported choirs and natural voice movement workshops for many years. Our very enjoyable choir practices take place once a month at the Hythe Centre in Egham, Staines, easily accessible by train from Central London and free parking onsite.
