A performance by a live choir (a cappella and at the correct pitch) can be heard on the score page. The words are my own and tell of children playing in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to where the angels are singing.

In the first few years of the choir's existence, they con...  moreWe are the pioneer choral group in the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar - Imus Cathedral in Cavite. Himig Batingaw was founded in March of 1979 by members of the Legion of Mary. In the first few years of the choir's existence, they conducted rehearsals at the church belfry; hence the name Himig (melody) and Batingaw (peal of bells) was born. The choir is very influential in the rise and development of choral music in the parish. It has introduced new pieces for liturgical use most of which are composed or arranged for the group and has graduated noted local musicians from its ranks. In the past years, the chorale group has joined different chorale festivals and won in various competitions; namely, Himig ng Kabataan Alay Kay Don Bosco, Forte Chorale Competition in De La Salle – Dasmariñas Cavite, Vivere Hotel and Resorts Annual Chorale Competition, First Grand Chorale Competition in Imus City Mall, Wikawit: Tagisan ng Korong Kabitenyo. Using the simple view that a good Song is a good Song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. The choir delights in introducing new Songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than from a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the choir never quite conformed to the accepted norms of what should be included in their repertoire.
